How To Get To Koh Tao

Koh Tao is easily accessible from all over Asia.

From Bangkok
Bangkok Airways have numerous flights daily to Koh Samui, from Koh Samui its just a short ferry ride to Koh Tao.
By Road or Rail.
The best way to travel is to buy a joint ticket which will take you by train or bus overnight to Chumpon and connect with an early morning ferry to Koh Tao. The train is a little more expensive but sleeper carriages mean your more likely to get a comfy nights sleep.
Lomprayah buses leave the Khao Sarn Road at 9pm arriving at 8.45am or leaving 6am arriving at 2.45pm and are 900 Baht. Tickets can be purchased at their office behind the Khao Sarn Road
Trains leave between 6pm and 9pm and will connect with a ferry to Koh Tao arriving mid-morning. Joint tickets can be bought either at the train station or at many of the travel agents in Bangkok.

Singapore Airlines fly to Koh Samui daily.

Penang / George Town – Malaysia
Firefly fly from Penang to Koh Samui daily.
Mini buses can be booked from Chulia Street and leave daily but you will have to spend the night in Hat Yai before connecting with a boat leaving from Surathani.

From the West coast of Thailand
Daily flights operate between Phuket and Koh Samui.
Travel from Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta and Phuket easily by purchasing a joint ticket connecting to the overnight boat leaving from Surathani to Koh Tao. Accommodation on the boat is simple dormitory style arriving at 6am. If you prefer to sleep in a proper bed – simply stay the night in Surathani and catch the Seatran ferry in the morning.

From Koh Samui and Koh Phangnan
Three services operate twice daily between Koh Samui and Koh Tao and Chumpon on the mainland. Seatran, Songserm and Lomprayah. Songserm is the cheapest but also the slowest!
